Applying to Irvine Valley College


By completing this application, Irvine Valley College will be assigned as your college of record. Irvine Valley College is one of two-colleges in the South Orange County Community College District which also includes Saddleback College.  You need to complete only one application to attend either or both colleges.  

Applications are accepted beginning on the following dates:


Summer Session

Fall Semester

December 1 for Freshman Advantage (graduating high school seniors)

Spring Semester

When submitting an application online, you will receive a confirmation email within 1 business day.


If you wish to apply to Saddleback College instead, please discontinue your IVC application now and proceed to


Submission of an IVC application:

  • Will assign your college of record as IVC for financial aid, assessment, and other services.
  • Means you do not need to complete a separate application for Saddleback College.
  • Will allow you to register online for classes at IVC, Saddleback College, and ATEP.

You must have an email address in order to submit an application online. Irvine Valley College communicates with students primarily by email. Check your email account often. 


If you do not have an email address, there are many free compatible services available (i.e. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo) to create an email account.



Freshman Advantage

for Fall 2014


If you are graduating in June 2014, you are eligible for Freshman Advantage for Fall 2014. Apply online beginning December 1st. Important Note: To qualify, apply by selecting the Fall 2014 term, select an Entry Level as a “first-time college student (after high school),” and enter your Graduation Date in June 2014. Future correspondence from IVC will be sent to the email address you provided on your application. For more information on Freshman Advantange, visit our website at

New and Former (returning) students must complete an admission application.

  • You are a new student if you never applied to Irvine Valley College or Saddleback College.
  • You are a former (returning) student if you previously attended Irvine Valley College or Saddleback College but have been away for a semester or more (not including summer).

Continuing Students do not need to reapply.

·         You are a continuing student if you were enrolled in classes at Irvine Valley College or Saddleback college during the previous semester (not including summer).


International (F1-Visa) Students:

  • The Spring 2014 application is now closed.
  • The Summer 2014 application is now available only for F-1 Visa students already in the U.S. The last day to apply for Summer 2014 is April 1, 2014. 
  • The Fall 2014 application is now available. For F-1 Visa students outside of the U.S., the last day to apply for Fall 2014 is May 1, 2014. 
  • When selecting your visa status on your application, select the citizenship status as "F1" and select "no expiration date." 
  • IMPORTANT: You will receive an email with your ID number when your application is processed. Your ID number is not approval of admission. You must also complete and submit International Student documents for admission. How to Use the Irvine Valley College Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the [Next] button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the [Submit] button located on the left column to submit the application.
